Swedish Massage

We recommend this for those new to massage or simply want primary relaxation. Swedish massage includes a variety of specific techniques that are applied with gentle pressure. This is designed to relax the body by stimulating circulation and releasing tension. It also helps increase the removal of metabolic waste products, ease muscle ache, improve flexibility, and facilitate relaxation.

Fit Pro Massage, LLC

Deep Tissue Massage

It uses the same techniques as Swedish massage but with more intense pressure. This is aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia. Together with other bodywork therapies such as sports massage and neuromuscular therapy (trigger point), deep tissue massage can relieve chronic muscle tension and break up connective tissue adhesions. This works great for alleviating tension and pain due to overuse, injury, poor posture, stress, etc.

Sports Massage

This is a combination of Swedish, deep tissue, and neuromuscular techniques with cross-fiber friction, compression, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, and other methods. Sports massage is designed to enhance athletic performance and recovery by maximizing the supply of nutrients and oxygen in the bloodstream. At the same time, it enhances the elimination of metabolic by-products of exercise.

Sports massage can be useful to an athlete in three contexts, namely pre-event, post-event, and maintenance or injury treatment and prevention. Professional and amateur athletes use massage therapy as a critical component of their training program. With regular massages, it greatly reduces the chance of injury, increases the range of motion, speeds recovery time, and enhance the mind-body connection—all allowing for improved power and performance. This is our specialty at Fit Pro Massage, LLC!

Thai Yoga Massage

Also known as “Lazy Man’s Yoga” or “Ancient Massage”, this type of massage leaves clients elongated, refreshed, and energized. It is a dynamic healing therapy that combines gentle palming and thumbing across energy lines and pressure points with passive stretching.

TYM is performed on a thick mat on the floor while the client remains clothed. No oils or creams are used. This method is excellent for athletes who want to increase flexibility and maintain structural integrity. It also helps those who are seeking a comprehensive full-body treatment to relieve muscular tension and balance the body energetically. People who are shy, have allergies, or are sensitive to lotions and oils will enjoy this type of massage as well. Kinesio Taping® Method

Invented in 1979 by Japanese Chiropractor and Acupuncturist Dr. Kenzo Kase, this method is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process. At the same time, Kinesio Taping® allows support and stability for muscles and joints without restricting the body’s natural range of motion. This treatment is used for a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological and medical conditions, such as:

  • Bursitis
  • Iliotibial Band Syndrome
  • Lymphedema
  • Scar Tissue and Bruising
  • Shin Splints
  • Tendonitis

Kinesio Taping® is appropriate for every stage of the injury’s healing process and can be used to prevent re-injury. It stimulates the body’s mechanoreceptors through several layers of soft tissue. This method is also best described as a way of keeping the work of the therapist’s hands going long even after the treatment session has ended.

We also provide Kinesio® Tex Tape. It is a uniquely designed elastic tape with a thickness, texture, and elasticity that is close to human skin. This allows the skin to breathe and can be worn for extended periods of time with continued therapeutic benefit. Many professional and amateur athletes depend on Kinesio® Tex Tape to keep them pain-free as they train and compete. Learn more at www.kinesiotaping.com.

Myofascial Release

This is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the connective tissue restriction to eliminate pain and restore motion. The gentle pressure applied allows the fascia to elongate.

The use of myofascial release lets us look into each patient as a unique individual. We conduct one-on-one therapy sessions wherein our hands-on treatments involve a multitude of myofascial release techniques and movement therapy. Our therapists educate patients about proper body mechanics and movement, self-treatment instructions, strength enhancement, improved flexibility, and postural and movement awareness.

Each session is done directly on the skin without oils, creams, or machinery. This enables our therapists to accurately detect fascial restrictions and apply the appropriate amount of pressure to facilitate the release of fascia.

Your therapist will use a combination of myofascial release techniques, massage cupping, and/or the Rapid Release Tech (RRT) machine. This is to break up scar tissue adhesions in areas where old injuries or repetitive overuse have caused scarring. We have found this method to be effective on surgical scars, overuse injuries, and muscular tears, strains, and pulls. While treating new injuries are more successful, old injuries also respond well to scar tissue massage.

Pre/Postnatal Massage

This is a custom-tailored treatment to give relief and comfort to expectant mothers. Hips, knees, legs, and lower back are the common areas of concern when it comes to this treatment. We put our clients in safe and comfortable positions with the use of special pillows and bolsters.

For our clients, please be aware that a doctor’s note is required for all “high-risk” pregnancies. Women should also be in their second or third trimester to safely receive massage.

Postnatal massage, on the other hand, helps stimulate healing and induces hormonal balance. It also aids in reducing fluid retention and provides a calm and relaxed postpartum for moms.

Steamy Wonder

For the ultimate detoxification and stress relief, add a relaxing steam session to your massage. The Steamy Wonder is a single-person tent attached to the massage table. This steam treatment increases circulation, heart rate, and metabolism. It also helps the body get rid of toxins, rejuvenate skin, and reduce fluid retention.

In this treatment, the client’s head and neck remain exposed to allow easy breathing. Aromatherapy (dried herbs) can be added to your steam pot. To learn more, visit www.SteamyWonder.com.
