How do I choose which type of Massage Therapy is appropriate for me?

Choose a modality based on your current goals & expectations for your session (i.e. stress reduction, increased flexibility, reduction in muscle tension or soreness, etc.) Please contact FitProMassage by email or telephone if you have any questions. Together, you and your therapist will find appropriate bodywork that will help you reach your goals.

How often should I receive Massage Therapy?

The simple answer is: as often as it takes to achieve your goals, balanced with as often as you can afford. It is safe for most individuals to receive Massage & Bodywork regularly, such as once per week. Some individuals choose to have shorter sessions on problem areas for several weeks in a row until they have reached a comfortable state, and then they schedule their sessions several weeks apart but come in for 60 or 90 minutes at a time. For example, a client is experiencing neck or shoulder pain and comes in for 30 minute sessions focused at relieving the pain. Once the client feels the issue has been adequately addressed, he/she receives monthly or biweekly maintenance massages for overall stress reduction. Athletes may choose to receive more massages during heavier periods of training or before and after important competitions. Treatments such as Hot Stone Massage, Foot Reflexology, or Thai Yoga Massage can be mixed into a regular massage routine to enhance the treatment experience.

What do I wear during my Massage Therapy session?
The phrase every massage therapist learns is "Please undress to your level of comfort." The therapist will step out of the room and close the door while you get onto and off of the massage table. Although many clients disrobe completely, many also choose to leave on their underwear. You will be covered with a sheet and/or blanket throughout the session. Therapists are trained in the art of draping, which involves adjusting the sheet/blanket so that only the body part being worked on is exposed. This applies to most forms of massage, such as Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Hot Stone, Prenatal, etc. During Thai Yoga Massage, clients should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing, such as athletic/yoga pants & a t-shirt or sweatshirt. During a Foot Reflexology session, only the socks & shoes will be removed.

How do I schedule an appointment with FitProMassage?
When you click the Make Appointment link, you will be taken to our scheduling program. Choose your Massage Time & Type & select from the available appointment times/days. Provide your phone number & email addresss and reminders will automatically be sent to you! You may also choose to have the appointment uploaded into your Outlook Express Calendar. Please remember that there is a 24 hour cancellation policy on all appointments. Missed appointments waste valuable time, so please be sure and notify us if your plans change. Thank you!

How do I purchase a Gift Certificate from FitProMassage?
You can simply email or call with your information & a gift certificate with envelope will be mailed out to you within 1-2 business days. Payments can be made with Visa or MasterCard. If you would prefer to mail a check, you may also do so. You can find all contact information under the Contact section of this website.

Be sure to provide:

  1. Your name, address & billing information
  2. Time of massage
  3. Type of massage
  4. Recipient's name (you may also purchase a blank gift certificate and choose the recpient at a later time).

You may simply choose an amount of time (30, 60, or 90 minutes) or a dollar amount and let your recipient decide how to use the gift. Do not forget to include a gratuity if you would like to take care of this for your loved one.
